(poem is from a book called "Youth.sg" Success by Teo Yen Fen I am 25 On my way to my first job It's a high paying one you know My mother's so proud of me My father too EVerybody in the family. All my life I've successfully overcome the hurdles of education 280 for PSLE 10 A1s for O Levels 8 distinction for A Levels Scholarships First class honours Numerous awards for leadership Isn't that success? I don't like Science, never did. But the subjects were easy to score Didn't like Accountancy either But mother said, ' Professional degree mah, Sure get higher pay one. Arts ah? No future one leh. I don't think it's a good idea. ''But I like philosophy.' 'Like, like cannot eat one! You better do Accountancy or Engineering. You choose.' 'Wah, first class honours ah?' 'Your girl so clever!'
